WHY I WRoTE THE ROOM WITH THE RAINBOW DOOR
Throughout my years of teaching, I found that most children’s books that discussed neurodiversity and disabilities only discussed one disability or did so through an animal.
I wanted to de-stigmatize differences by creating a children’s book that depicted the wide range of neuro-types, disabilities, + atypical behaviors and introduced them to children in a realistic and relevant way.
