Thanksgiving is not all about the food! It also is a time to work on new vocabulary and pre-academic skills.

Take a look at all the recent terrific turkey fun we have been having.

Pin The Feather On The Turkey

This silly game is a class favorite! Students put on our goofy glasses and try and pin the feather on the turkey. This is fun way to practice following directions, turn taking, fine motor, requesting, AAC, and color identification.

10 Fat Turkey’s

We have been reading 10 Fat Turkeys by Tony Johnston. This tale follows a flock of ten fat turkeys as they play and goof around.

Pay attention because they might just fly away! This story is a great way to practice counting!

We have been using this in conjunction with our interactive and adaptive version.

Don’t forget to check out our Thanksgiving Dinner Interactive and Adapted Book as well!

Fine Motor Feather Fun

Our sensory bin is full of fluffy feathers. Students can work on their fine motor by sticking them in the turkey’s back (colander). This is an easy activity to carry on at home!

Thankful for Crafitivity
